PIDC strives to serve our customers and contribute to the society through innovative research and development of advanced materials and technologies. We have a highly capable technical team with diversified expertise. The key technologies upon which we build our successes include:
PIDC’s scientists and engineers are developing specialty materials with chemical compositions designed for high performance. Dopants are used to modify the crystal structure, thermal stability, and chemical properties of a variety of products including catalyst supports for automotive catalytic converters, phosphors for lighting and display, and membrane materials for hydrogen separation. Controlled synthesis processes: PIDC’s materials are made through either wet chemical processes or solid state reactions. Our development and production engineers have a clear understanding of the effects of processing parameters such as solution concentration, pH value, precipitation method, temperature, and reaction time on the properties of the products. The materials are produced with state-of-the-art reactors, filters, furnaces, and milling equipment. Engineered physical properties: From spheres to platelets to fibers, and from nano particles to conventional powders, PIDC is producing a variety of materials with tailored physical properties including surface area, pore volume, pore size distribution, bulk density, morphology, and particle size. The goal is to meet the different needs of our customers. The tuning of the material properties is achieved through the design of proper synthesis methods and control of processing parameters. Integrated component functions: Certain PIDC’s advanced materials under development are designed with integrated functions from several components. Such materials have the advantages of providing multiple performance capabilities in a single material system with high efficiency and low cost.
